Despite being only two years into its latest iteration, the F-150 pickup truck has already received several notable upgrades. Whereas the 2016 F-150 received a new and enhanced infotainment system as well as an additional trim level, its successor is expected to undergo a similar treatment and introduce a number of new features to the list of standard equipment. As for the 2017 Ford F-150 XL, it will once again offer more than decent value for money in this highly contested niche.
2017 Ford F-150 XL Equipment
The 2017 Ford F-150 XL will be offered with such standard amenities as automatic headlights, trailer sway control, pre-wired trailer connections, as well as 17-inch steel wheels. Inside the cabin, expect to find vinyl flooring, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, cloth upholstery on the front bench, climate control, a 2.3-inch multi-information display, and a 4.2-inch central screen. The entry-level trim also includes Bluetooth connectivity and a four-speaker radio with auxiliary input. With an optional 101A package, expect to get remote keyless entry, cruise control, power mirrors and windows, Ford’s MyKey vehicle control, as well as smartphone integration. As for the range-topping 3.5-liter turbocharged V6, it’s rated at 365 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. All F-150 models come with a six-speed automatic transmission that features a tow-haul mode. The towing capacity ranges between 7,600 pounds with the base V6 engine and 8,500 pounds with the 2.7-liter V6.

The 2017 Ford F-150 XL will be priced competitively, starting at around $27,500 for the regular-cab, two-wheel drive model. The popular pickup is expected to hit the dealerships in the second half of 2016.
